Name the steps of the Scientific Method. You can use VSU's PHAT CAC Format to give your answer. The answer to question for week three is: The Independent Variable is the Manipulating Variable and the Dependent Variable is the Responding Variable. In an actual scientific lab scenario out in the field, you can have several dependent variables responding to an independent variable. Example: If you have a person riding a stationary bicycle for five minutes and every minute you take their heart rate and blood pressure, the Independent Variable is the amount of time the person is exercising which is five minutes. The Dependent Variables are the individual's heart rate and blood pressure readings.
